Welcome to the Films at the Stone! When my team and I built and opened the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial in August of 2011 we envisioned it to be a place where people would be inspired to live out the legacy of its name sake – the legacy of democracy, justice, hope and love.

The launch of the Films at the Stone Summer Film Series brings us one step closer to that vision. The Films at the Stone is the first and only summer film series at a memorial on the National Mall. The films are screened at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial and will display the best of human strength, love and courage.

You, your families and friends can join us at sunset on June 22, June 27 and August 24 at the green space adjacent to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Bookstore. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, and snacks to enjoy excellent cinematography and be inspired by the characters who also struggle to live the principles of democracy, justice, hope and love.

We hope you will join us and tell your friends!
